Biography

Matthew De Decker was born about 1670, a son of Johannes De Decker and Margaret Belcamp. He lived on Staten Island and had many descendants there.[1]

He married Eve (Aeffie) Mesecar around 1690. They had ten known children.[2]

Dekker-489 and Decker-1662 appear to represent the same person because: These clearly are intended to represent the same person. The earliest record seems to be the 1701 baptism witnessing, which calls him Decker, so that looks like an OK choice for his LNAB.
